Fallen Feathers
The first in a brand new series following demon Nessa and angel Ophelia as they fight for their love and what they believe in. Set in the beautiful historic city of York in England, Fallen Feathers is a magical sweeping sapphic love story full of feelings, morals, found family, and peril.
About the Author:
Romy has wanted to be an author since she was a child, and was always making up stories, but she hated writing on paper. Luckily, keyboards exist! She started writing Fallen Feathers in late December 2023, and by August had written the first three books in a series about LGBT angels and demons in love. While this is her first book, Romy has written a few other projects in various formats, and regularly writes articles and reviews for the popular theatre review site West End Best Friend as well as magazine articles in publications such as The Historians Magazine. As well as being a writer, Romy is also a historian and is undertaking a Masters Degree in Museum Studies. She is also very involved in theatre; often performing in pantomimes, musicals, and plays; directing pantomimes; and designing props and posters following her degree in Graphic Design. She also sometimes works in TV. Romy lives in the North of England (that's why all her characters tend to be reyt Northern) with her lovely family and two sweet kittens!
More About Romy Morgan:
How long does it take you to write a book? How long does each stage of the process usually take?
Weirdly not long! Before Fallen Feathers, I'd tried to write books, but never finished them, but there was just something about Fallen Feathers... I was obsessed with writing it, and wrote whenever I could. I actually initially write on my phone's note app, because I personally find it easier, and therefore I was able to write wherever I was. I started writing Fallen Feathers at the end of December 2023, and had finished it by the end of February. By August I had written three books in the series. After that I focused more on editing and getting the first book ready to be published, so I have only written one more book since then.

What is your favourite type of character to write?
I tend to write about kind people who love deeply; even most of my villains end up redeeming themselves to a certain level. I love to explore the reasons behind why people act the way they do. I believe that everyone has something in their past that causes them to act in a certain way, so I love revealing sad/tragic backstories for my characters that explains their actions.

Do you mine your own life for ideas, settings and/or characters?
I do tend to have my stories set in the North of England where I live. Fallen Feathers is based in York, and many real places that I love feature in it. I also think I tend to write about complicated emotions with insightful thoughts and healing moments for my characters, influenced by my mum who is a counsellor and NLP practitioner.

What's next for your writing?
The rest of the Fallen Feathers series will be published soon. I have written the second two and a shorter spin off. I am currently taking a break with the series before writing the final fourth book, while I write something different. I am currently writing a M/M modern vampire romance.
