From the Blurb:
Katherine is an artist struggling with the grief of losing her mother at a young age. When her father dies, she and her sister unexpectedly inherit a house in Westchester Bay—a house she doesn’t remember.

When she finds a strange collection of old letters addressed to her, she starts to question everything. Her dreams and drawings all seem to hold a secret, a hint of who she was before the day her mother died.

While searching for answers, she befriends Janson Caswell: a kindhearted man with a complicated past of his own. The deeper their relationship grows, though, the more they are faced with a darker reality.

Will the truth tear them apart?

How long does it take you to write a book? How long does each stage of the process usually take?

I wrote A Forever Summer during Covid lockdown in 2022. The process took about a year and half between revisions and editing to a final version.

What is your favourite type of character to write?

Probably Janson Caswell because he is sort of based on my dad. A little. The reason is history. I enjoyed creating his character. He is genuine and kind to his uncle and aunt.

*

Do you mine your own life for ideas, settings and/or characters?

I wanted to create a story set in a coastal small town. I find it interesting and adorable and fun to write. The story was inspired by two different pictures in summer Victorian magazine from 90s.

*

What is something you wish you had known earlier on in your writing career?

Take the time to get the book polished and how to do my own formatting.

*

What do you do when you find yourself in a bit of a writing rut? Is there any strategy you find works for you to help the words start flowing again?

I learned it is better take your time and work at your own pace. Don’t force it. Let it come at its own time.

*

What is your favourite writing resource?

BodyBeat to Build On book. Totally worth it! Highly recommend!

*

What authors or books inspire you the most?

I have to be honest - it is quite difficult to narrow down the specific authors. But I can name several books I read, like C.S. Lewis or A Wrinkle in Time, that have helped me to be creative and use my imagination.

What's next for your writing?

I am currently working on a NA portal fantasy. And I’m excited to work on some short stories when I’m done with the current project.
